Study Plan for the Book of Romans

Could anyone ever fathom the depths of God’s Word? We can try. We
are working on the book of Romans together in our Sunday morning worship time.
Here is the plan:
OBSERVATION
INTERPRETATION
APPLICATION
CORRELATION
Let me explain. I ask you to read the book of Romans
at least once a month in one
sitting (sit for the time it takes you to read through all sixteen chapters
without stopping). It would be preferable for you to read it
>once a week in one sitting.
This is called OBSERVATION. The
more you observe the book, read and re-read the book, the more you will
observe – make connections – see themes – realize repetitions – understand
emphasis and etc.
If you will concentrate on OBSERVATION, I will help you with the
INTERPRETATION, APPLICATION and CORRELATION each Sunday morning. All you must
do is be present at 10:00 am for the Worship service. As always, outlines –
study sheets will be provide for you. We will do further discussion of the
book, topics and issues that arise on Wednesday evenings at 7:00 pm.

Let me explain the three steps I will be doing on Sunday mornings.
As some know, I have been trained extensively in Bible and have over
thirty-five years of experience in teaching the Word.
INTERPRETATION – I will present to you the conservative
understanding of the passage of the day. I will have compared my own
thoughts with those of Bible scholars of the ages.
APPLICATION – I will carefully consider and present the
contextual practical relevance of the passage to our present lives.
CORRELATION – I will
correlate the passage with the other sixty-five books of the Bible
explaining the theological principles presented by the Holy Spirit.
