Our Beliefs
 | We believe in the verbal inspiration
and authority of the Scriptures. |
 | We believe that the Bible reveals God,
the fall of man, the way of salvation, and God's plan and
purpose in all ages. |
 | We believe in God the Father, God the
Son, and God the Holy Spirit. |
 | We believe in the Deity, virgin birth
and bodily resurrection of Jesus Christ. |
 | We believe that salvation is by grace -
plus nothing and minus nothing. The conditions to
salvation are repentance and faith. |
 | We believe that men are justified by
faith alone and are accounted righteous before God only
through the merit of Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. |
 | We believe in the visible, personal and
premillenial return of Christ |
 | We believe in the everlasting conscious
blessedness of the saved and the everlasting conscious
punishment of the lost. |

FRESH POWER FOR THE CHURCH TODAY
The Book of Acts records the actions of Jesus through the Christians
of the first century in the Person of the Holy Spirit. It is a book of the
“acts” of the believers of the first church.
Acts is a book of “action”. As we read this book of action and compare our
lives individually and corporately as a church to the example given to us
in scripture, how do we measure up? This is a hard question. Do we really
“act” the way we should and are we really what we should be as believers
according to the example of the first church?
I have been serving the Lord as a minister of the Gospel for over thirty
years now. I must admit that much of what I have done and much of what I
do does not resemble the first century believer. An honest study of the
Book of Acts leads me to examine my “religion”. It leads me to face some
uncomfortable facts about my “Christianity”.
Many of us do not want to face the truth. Our attitude might be summed up
by the saying, “Don’t confuse me with the facts, I have already made up my
mind”. In other words, “let me alone. Leave me to my religion. I am
satisfied with my comfortable familiar way of doing church and Jesus.
Don’t try to get me out of my comfort zone.”
Well, for the restless soul who always wants a little more of the Lord,
the “status quo” may not be filling the cup. I guess I am just a
nonconformist. Way back in the late sixties I was a part of the “Jesus
Movement”. I didn’t do the “hippie” scene. I hung out with the “Jesus
Freaks”. And now, at fifty years of age, I find myself still restless. I
want more of the Lord.
The Book of Acts gives me a totally awesome view of a radical
movement that I want to be a part of today. The disciples of Christ were
accused of “turning the whole world upside down”. Wow, what an accusation!
Have we been accused of that lately? I don’t think so. But, I want to be.
Following the example of the first church has gotten me in trouble. It did
when I was a missionary and it has as I have pastored in the United
States. But, where else should we go for our pattern for church? Who would
claim to have a manual more authoritative than that of the New Testament?
Religion, tradition, familiar worship and historical settings are good…
sometimes… but where is the power? Where is the power of the first church?
I want fresh power for my life today and for my church today. What about
you?
The big question is, are we willing to pay the price? Are we willing to
“chuck” all those things that would hinder fresh power from invading our
lives and our churches? This is scary but it is exciting! Entrusting
ourselves to the Holy Spirit to empower us for praise, worship and
ministry is the most invigorating and satisfying experience that a human
can enjoy. But are we willing to take the plunge?
The Book of Acts records the actions of Jesus through the Christians of
the first century in the Person of the Holy Spirit. It is a book of the
“acts” of the believers of the first church. Will we dare to follow their
example?
